The ying&yang of sweet and salty gets me every time. Cheeses are often paired with many sweet offerings because the salt & sweet contrast is pleasing to our taste buds. Honey, fig spread, and berries are few examples of sweet parings for cheese spreads that come to mind.
Today I am gong to show you how to prepare this fabulous honeycomb cheesy cracker appetizer in order to wow your loved ones. Please note it is a very decadent dish and a little goes a long way. It is so incredibly simple and yet so incredibly rich.

That’s it. The cheese selection can be any cheeses you prefer. I buy these pre-sliced and sized cheese variety packs and the assortments usually include Monterrey Jack, Havarti, Colby Jack, Cheddar to name a few. There is no right or wrong, just use cheese varieties you prefer.
Also, as I arrange the cheese slices on the baking sheet, I keep half of the pieces whole as they come and the other half I cut in half. The cheese slices I use are about 3-1/2 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide. This way you can make a big ooey gooey honey cheesy cracker or a more petite one, depending on your preference.
thoughts on the honeycomb cheesy cracker appetizer
This appetizer is not only super yummy and packs a great presentation punch it also eliminates the carbs from the equation. You don’t need crackers or a baguette to serve this, which is a great alternative for low carb or no carb nutrition. I’ve heard it called a Keto cracker as well.
I have served this as a a stand alone appetizer or as part of a larger charcuterie board selection or I even brought it to a pot luck dinner. The dish and recipe itself are super simple, but you can make it as grand as you wish with fruit or meats, etc.
honeycomb goodness
This is the last post on a series centered on the honey bee as the star of the show. It started with the {bee themed tablescape} in honor of National Bee day last month.
Then I shared how I created one of the vases for the centerpiece on the table {burlap container DIY – bee honeycomb theme}.
Then a fun cocktail recipe {honey ginger Champagne mule cocktail} followed.
We hope you enjoyed all the honeycomb and bee inspiration and ideas. Let me know if you try this appetizer and what you think. Bon Appetite.
