The time has come... I am sharing my famous, super easy apple cake recipe! I can't even count the amount of times I was asked for this recipe, either from my friends or from my followers on Instagram whenever I shared it in the stories. I'll tell you a secret though, it's so much easier to make than it looks! Honestly, it is ready in no time and makes such a good impression! It's what I make last minute when I have guests or need to bring something when we are invited out.

The taste is also so nice, sweet just enough and with enough apples to make it juicy and tasty.

Ingredients

  • 4 big apple, peeled
  • 9 oz butter (melted)
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • a pinch of salt
  • icing sugar
Instructions

Mix well all ingredients together in a bowl, except for the apples, until you get a smooth batter.
Pour the batter in a round cake tin that you have previously greased with butter.
Cut the apples into quarters, remove the core, and lightly score the outside of the apple quarters with a knife. I typically make 2-3 light scores on each one, which are what gives the nice pattern on top of the cake. Make sure not to cut them through, keep the scoring light.
Place each quarter, with the scoring facing upwards, in a circle around the outer borders and then fill the middle with a few extra apples .
Bake for about 45-55 minutes at 390F, until a toothpick in the sponge comes out clear.
When it has cooled off, sprinkle some icing sugar on top. You can eat it on its own or with some cream on the side.

  • This looks scrumptious! And . . . I just dug out my apple peeler in anticipation of the fall / winter season. One of my grandmother's used to make something similar - everyone loves apples in baked goods. And really enjoy the fact that it isn't loaded with sugar. Thanks for sharing!
