How to Make Captain Crunch French Toast

French toast is a favorite around our house. We love it for both breakfast and breakfast for dinner. While any kind of french toast is a hit, we’ve been experimenting with different recipes to make one of our favorite meals even more fabulous.
If you’ve ever wondered what French toast would taste like with a little more crunch, our next easy kid-friendly recipe is sure to delight all ages. Using a family friendly cereal, this Captain Crunch coated French toast brings breakfast to a whole new level. Here is how t make it for your family to enjoy.
This recipe takes 10 minutes of prep and 8 minutes of cooking time. For the recipe here, we made 6 slices of toast. Feel free to double or triple if you’re making this easy recipe for a crowd.
Ingredients:
- 6 slices of Texas Toast Bread
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups of Cap’n Crunch Cereal
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions:
To get started on this Captain Crunch french toast recipe, you will want to measure out your cereal and place it in a Ziploc bag.
Using a kitchen mallet or rolling pin, crush the cereal until you have crumbs.
In a medium-size mixing bowl, add the eggs.
Add in the heavy cream.
Then add in the vanilla extract.
Add in the sugar and then the cinnamon.
Whisk the ingredients until well combined.
Set out 2 bowls, one with the egg mixture and the other with the crushed cereal.
Grab a slice of bread, drench in the egg mixture and then coat with crushed cereal.
Repeat until all slices are drenched and coated.
Heat 2 tbsp of butter in a large pan and cook French toast for about 6-8 minutes, or until the outside is crispy. Make sure to flip the Captain Crunch French Toast halfway through cooking.
Enjoy with syrup, ice cream, berries or your family’s favorite toppings. You can even top with honey, chocolate syrup or peanut butter.
You can also swap out the cereal in this recipe for another favorite cereal to get great flavor and crunch.
