Strawberry Smoothie Parfait

Let's be honest...no one drinks their smoothies our of stemware like this unless they're at a fancy restaurant...a really fancy restaurant. But I've been seeing all of these photos of layered smoothies, and decided to make myself a lazy one. The bottom is homemade Greek yogurt, topped with a generous drizzle of honey, and the smoothie is a simple, but delicious strawberry and kefir smoothie. And I’m top of it all, the kefir is homemade. If you aren’t familiar with the many health benefits of kefir, you should definitely look into it. I’ve definitely noticed a different in my overall health since incorporating it into my daily routine.

Ingredients

Smoothie Layer

  • 1 C plain kefir
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 C frozen strawberries
  • drizzle of maple syrup (I didn't measure...maybe 1 Tbs?)

Yogurt Layer

  • Greek yogurt
  • Honey
  • Just do as much as you'd like for amounts here...I didn't measure. Catching onto a pattern? :P

Instructions


Blend all smoothie ingredients together in high speed blender.
Later yogurt and honey into desired glass...bonus points if it's instaworthy.
Top with smoothie, and maybe a few strawberries if you're feeling fancy, and like you want to wasted time photographing and then plucking the berries out afterward. See? At least I keep it real with the facade!
