Brown Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Bars

These Brown Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Bars are made with brown butter, ripe bananas, and chocolate chips. The added sweetened condensed milk just gives them that little extra deliciousness! They are super easy to make and sure to become a favorite!

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp browned butter
  • 1 ripe banana mashed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1½ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ 15oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • ½+â…“ cup chocolate chips/chunks
  • flaky salt optional
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 F and prepare 8Ă—8 baking pan with parchment paper.
Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together browned butter, mashed banana, and sugars.
Stir in egg and vanilla until well combined.
Fold in flour mixture.
Fold in chocolate chips/chunks.
Take about half of the prepared dough and spread evenly across the bottom of your prepared baking pan.
Pour sweetened condensed milk over the dough and use a spatula to spread it out evenly.
Sprinkly with a chocolate chips/chunks.
Add remainder of prepared dough on top and use a spatula to spread out as best you can.
Add remaining chocolate chips/chunks on top.
Bake at 350 F for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with flaky salt (optional).
Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before cutting.
