How to make Baked Breaded Cauliflower


Ingredients


  • 1 whole head of cauliflower (average size head), cut into florets.
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions


Chop your cauliflower and wash the florets.


Add the cauliflower florets to a resealable bag.

Season with salt and pepper. Add the breadcrumbs.


Close the bag up and toss everything around to coat the cauliflower.


Spread the breaded cauliflower florets onto a lined baking sheet, lightly sprayed with cooking oil spray.


Cook battered cauliflower at 350 degrees f for 20-25 minutes or until the cauliflower is soft and the breadcrumbs are browned.

    In the initial steps you don’t mention Cooking the cauliflower first but then you have a tip to boil it for two minutes. Do you have a preference, and what is the difference in cooking time between the two approaches?

      It all depends how you like your cauliflower. I like them well cooked, so I blanch them (add them to boiling water). Usually not necessary when using frozen ones since they are already blanched. Try them out both ways. Just make sure that they are dry before putting them in the baggie and adding the breadcrumbs.
