Chana Masala is a dish I recently stumbled upon yet fell in love with almost instantly! It's made with chickpeas, tomatoes and many warm spices. The flavors and texture is beyond amazing and I love how cozy this dish is. It's part of Indian cuisine; "Chana" means chickpeas and "masala" means a blend of spices. This is a super hearty dish and is insanely easy to make. There are only a minimal amount of ingredients needed and all of the ingredients used in this recipe are most likely already in your home. • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 2 tsp. curry powder
  • 1/2 can diced tomatoes (1 cup or 205 grams )

  • 2 cloves garlic

In a large saucepan, heat up the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions. Cook until the onion turns translucent, about 4 minutes.
Add the garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 min). Stir in the salt, cumin, curry powder, and black pepper. Add the tomatoes.
Add the chickpeas. Stir in to incorporate all the ingredients together.
Add the finely chopped parsley. You can add additional spices at this point to suit your preferences.
Cook for 10 minutes or longer, reducing heat if necessary, to allow the flavors to develop. Serve.
  • You can serve this chana masala in a sandwich, over basmati rice, or on it's own!
