These cookies are always a hit in our household when we make them. I hope your home enjoys them just as much! The first batch we made I didn’t realize they made so many! There was definitely plenty to go around which is great because our family of 8 are oreo lovers ! My husband had to take them to the firehouse to get them out of the house because we were eating them left and right. Let’s get into the recipe.

Make sure you check out the video below of the first time I made them. It was the first time that I baked on Serve it up Sunday 🙂 I hope you find the video useful and you definitely enjoy those melt in your mouth cookies! Too busy to bake? Here is my favorite cookie store with a delicious cookie assortment.

Choco Oreo Cookies

These chocolate oreo cheese cake cookie treats are the BEST cookies you will ever have!

  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Cups smashed Oreos
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tbsp full fat cream cheese
  • 15 oz vanilla cake mix
  • 1/2 cup milk or dark chocolate morsels ( you choose)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate morsels
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grab your cookie sheets. I used my giant 12x 14 sheet.
  2. Grab a large mixing bowl and add the in the cake mix and set aside.
  3. DO NOT ADD the Oreos yet 🙂
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well blended.
  5. I set my Kitchen Aid ( you can use a hand mixer or any other electric mixer) at low and worked my way up to 4 . It doesn’t need to be mixing at a high speed.
  6. Add the cream cheese mixture until just blended.
  7. Next add the chocolate chips.
  8. Turn the mixer to a VERY low speed or use a rubber spatula and add in the chopped oreos. If the setting is high they will become crushed oreo crumbs and you wont have many large oreo pieces.
  9. Lightly coat your cookie sheet with canola or coconut oil.
  10. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons or a cookie scoop onto prepared cookie sheets. Make sure you leave enough space in between and don’t touch the sides of the pan.
  11. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 or until lightly browned around edges; do not overbake or cookies will be dry instead of chewy! Cool on wire racks before serving if desired.
  12. Just an FYI…If they don’t cool for long enough they will fall to pieces when you pick them up.

How to store

These oreo cake cookies are perfect for any occasion! There’s no better way to celebrate than with this delicious treat.

You can store them in an airtight container or ziploc bag, but I recommend keeping it out of direct sunlight because otherwise they’ll start getting stale quicker than you think (and who doesn’t love fresh-from oven taste?). Enjoy your new batch today; tomorrow might not be possible due to all these amazing flavors that will leave people wanting MORE!!!

If you are storing extra dough the best way in the freezer is by wrapping it flat and tightly with aluminum foil. This will ensure that your delicious treat stays fresh for as long as possible! Next place the foiled dough in Ziploc bag and use it within the next couple of weeks.

Here are some of my favorite mix-ins

Just a slight switch for a fun everyday cookie.

  • Peanut butter chips
  • Different flavors of Oreo cookies, my favorite are mint oreos
  • Cinnamon drops ( a little bit goes a long way)
  • Semi-sweet chocolate or white chocolate chips

Put a holidays spin on the original recipe

These cookies are the perfect way to celebrate any occasion. With their festive colors and tangy flavors, they’ll make your guests feel like they’re in a new holiday movie!

  • Green food coloring for St. Patty’s Day
  • Red Chocolate pieces for Christmas
  • Pink Sprinkles for Valentine’s Day

Do you have any baking tips? Have you made these cookies before? Would you make any adjustments to them? If so let me know! I’d love the hear all of the advice you have.
