At Home Meatball Subs
I made the most delicious meatball sub! I think it was the way I cooked the meatballs that I attribute to their tenderness.
I started by chopping up some onion and garlic.
Mixed with 1/4 cup of Italian breadcrumbs.
Then I added shared parmigiana cheese.
I mixed that together with 1 lbs of ground beef and 2 table spoons of flour and 1 egg.
I stared rolling out balls and stuck them in a pot to brown.
Rolling each ball around on medium heat to brown the outside.
After they cooked for about 10 minutes, I added tomato sauce on top in the same pan (less dishes!) and simmered for 30 minutes.
This made the meat balls SO tender and juicy!
You can enjoy over noodles but I was in the mood for a sub so I got some fresh rolls and placed the meatballs on top with some fresh mozzarella cheese.
Toast the sandwich open for a few minutes in a toaster oven to get the cheese to melt and ENJOY!
This came out so good and I will be cooking my meatballs like this from now on!
