The Expresso was not included in the instructions, so is it not needed. Us that an options? Also 1/3 cup of flour seems like a small amount., Will that make a cake? You said a cake mix can be used but then follow the rest of the steps???? Which steps? Adding in the chocolate chunks and scraping the bowl? Did I miss something in this recipe or am I reading the instructions incorrectly? If you use a cake mix would you add your ingredient list or follow box instructions? Thanks for some clarification.

If you choose to add espresso, it would be in step 2. If you choose to use a boxed cake mix, you would eliminate step 2 altogether and mix according to the box instructions. If you use a boxed mix, step 3 is optional, depending on what flavor cake mix you choose ( a white cake mix would be fun with cherry chips, etc.)
