Pumpkin Spice Chex Snack Mix
Calling Pumpkin Spice fans, Pumpkin Spice Chex Snack Mix is an easy recipe for fall snacking!
The combination of sweet and salty is highly addictive, which may or may not be a good thing. ;) Best of all, it can be made ahead and comes together in 5 minutes.
This snack mix starts with Chex Cereal. To pair with the pumpkin spice, I used a combination of Cinnamon Chex and Honey Nut Chex but feel free to mix and match the Chex flavors of your choice if you already have Rice, Corn or Wheat Chex in your pantry. You’ll need 6 cups of cereal for this recipe.
Pretzels along with nuts add a salty note to the cereal. This serves a large crowd, so adjust your quantities and ingredients to your taste.
I used a combination of Pumpkin Pie M&M’s, Creepy Cocoa Crisp M&M’s and Harvest Corn, found at Target. Customize your mix with the candy of your choice.
This is a fun and easy snack to enjoy for pumpkin spice season, Halloween or Thanksgiving. If you’re in need of an easy tailgate snack and a fan of Buffalo flavor, I highly recommend Buffalo Chex Mix!

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 6 tablespoons salted butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups Cinnamon Chex cereal
- 3 cups Honey Nut Chex cereal
- 1 cup small pretzels
- 1 cup salted cashews (or nuts of choice)
- 1 cup Pumpkin Pie M&M’s (or plain M&M’s)
- 1 cup Candy Corn or Harvest Corn
Instructions
- Mix cereal and pretzels in large microwaveable bowl; set aside.
- In small microwaveable bowl, microwave butter on high about 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
- *Microwave uncovered on high in 1 minute increments, for 5 minutes, or until mixture begins to brown, stirring after each minute. Spread on wax paper or a cookie sheet to cool.
- When mixture has cooled, mix in nuts and candy. Store in airtight container until ready to serve.
Tips
- *Microwave wattage varies. After 3 minutes, reduce microwaving to 30 second increments, watching and stirring so butter / sugar mixture doesn’t scorch.
- I used a combination of Pumpkin Pie M&M’s, Creepy Cocoa Crisp M&M’s and Harvest Corn, found at Target. Use the candy of your choice.
- Adjust the quantities of add-ins; nuts, candy and pretzels to your taste. I used salted butter to help balance the sweet of the cereal and candy, but use unsalted butter if you prefer.
