Every time I think of homemade pasta my mouth drools. For me its probably one of the most delicious foods. Its very easy to make and I will show you in this step by step post.

Before you start you will need to purchase a hand crank pasta maker. They are inexpensive and you can find them at your local Walmart stores or Amazon. If you try cutting them up with a knife, its really hard to get it right. The pasta maker does the hard work for you.

Ingredients you will need

2 -1/2 cups of unbleached all-purpose flour

4 large eggs

Pinch of salt

Mix 2 1/2 cups of unbleached all purpose flour with a pinch of salt. On a clean service put all the flour there. Like a counter or piece of butcher block.

Step 2: Forming the dough

With your hands make a well 7 to 8 inches in the center of the flour. Crack the eggs in the well and with a fork lightly beat the 4 eggs gradually piling the flour in the eggs.

Step 3: Kneading the dough

Use your hands to pull the remainder flour together, while kneading gently until the dough feels cohesive. Cover the dough for 20 minutes. Use your hands to pull the remainder of flour altogether, while kneading gently until the dough feels cohesive. Cover the dough for 20 minutes.

Step 4: Cutting the dough

Cutting the dough into 6 pieces. Take one piece and flatten out with a towel. Dust it lightly with flour. 3 inches and 1 1/16 thick is a good length and thickness.

Step 5: Passing it though the pasta maker

When you fold the first piece make sure you dust it with flour and pass it through the widest setting of the pasta maker. Keep passing it through the next settings on the pasta machine (4 or 5 times ) and lightly flour on both sides each time.

Step 6: Strips of pasta

Pile the pasta loosely on the counter. When you have enough you can drop them into the boiling water.

Let them cook for one minute and add you favorite sauce and parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
