This is a very grown up feeling bowl of oats, and a favourite in our house at the moment. A little bit unique, and a little indulgent. The rich tahini balances the sweet honey, the chocolate adds a richness, and there’s a little bitterness from the caramelised banana. Really simple, but very tasty! It was so fun to bowl up and add the toppings.

If you are short on time then of course you could try this without the caramelised bananas and just use fresh slices, but if you do have a little extra time, like on the weekend, then it really is worth it!

Ingredients
Oats Base
  • 100g Oats
  • 200-300ml Milk
  • 1 TSP Honey
  • Pinch of Salt
Toppings
  • 1 TSP Honey
  • 2 Squares Dark Chocolate
  • 1 TSP Tahini
  • 1 Banana
  • Mixed Seeds & Chopped Dates (optional)
Instructions

Make the porridge base by mixing the oats with the milk, honey, and a small pinch of salt and heat over a low heat for 10-15 minutes until thick and creamy, adding a little more milk or water if needed.
Meanwhile, chop the banana into 1cm thick slices and cook on a non-stick, slightly greased frying pan until golden and caramelised on the bottom.
For the tahini-honey drizzle, mix both together with a drop or so of water to thin it out.
Make up the bowls by dividing the porridge, topping with the caramelised bananas, chopped chocolate, mixed seeds and dates, then drizzle over the tahini-honey and serve!
