There is no better way to enjoy grilled shrimp that with the zesty flavours of lemon paired with garlic. This easy lemon garlic prawns recipe is bursting with flavour and will go from pan to plate in under 15 minutes.


While plain cooked prawns are great, nothing quite compares to these garlic-loaded, juicy shrimp. They are bursting with so much flavour and incredibly quick and easy to cook up.

Helpful Tip: If serving as a main dish, make sure you aim to have approximately 5 large or 7-8 medium prawns per person when paired with a side dish.

Seafood Seasoning Substitutes

This recipe uses seafood seasoning to give it some extra flavour. This is not the most essential ingredient, however, it does add to the delicious taste.


Any supermarket seafood seasoning blend is fine to use.

Ingredients

  • 16-20 large shrimp, cleaned
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes (red pepper flakes)
  • 2 teaspoons seafood seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 teaspoons dry or fresh chopped parsley
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large frying pan, over medium heat.
Cook the shrimp, garlic, and red pepper flakes for approximately 2 minutes.
Add seafood seasoning and salt & pepper. Cook for 3-5 minutes.
Add lemon juice and reduce to low heat to simmer.
Add parsley and lemon zest and cook until combined.
Serve & enjoy!

  • Excellent recipe! I have one similar and it truly takes minutes. Love that you did your mise en place, makes the dish quick and easy to prepare. Always on the menu when the shrimp prices are friendly. And in summer, these are fun to to top a simple salad to turn it into a proper meal. Spinach salad topped with shrimp is another favorite.
