Dill Tzatziki is one of those things we make weekly to always have on hand. It’s that perfect light and refreshing addition to just about any dish but also a healthy snack option to have around when you start to get hungry. It combines so many fresh flavors like dill, lemon, garlic, and cucumber. It is so simple, takes just about 5 minutes and you have yourself a big bowl of yummy Dill Tzatziki to enjoy. Check out the recipe below and try it for yourself!

First and foremost grate the English cucumber. The English cucumber is the best choice because it is typically readily available and also doesn’t have any seeds. I like to cut a piece of cheese cloth and lay it out over a plate or bowl and then grate the cucumber over it. Wrap the grated cucumber up and squeeze out all of the excess water into the sink. Place the squeezed cucumber into a bowl and then get to chopping. Chop up the dill and garlic finely, add to the bowl with the cucumber. Lastly, add the greek yogurt, lemon juice, and salt, mix well to combine all the ingredients. Make sure to taste and see if you need any more lemon juice or salt but be careful because once you let it sit the tzatziki does become saltier. Store in the fridge for about 30 minutes before serving.

We suggest using cheese cloth to remove the excess water from the grated cucumber. If you don’t have cheese cloth any thin rag or linen should do just fine. By using a thin linen or rag you are leaving room in the fabric to let the water pass through. If you use anything too thick too much water will remain in the grated cucumber and the tzatziki will become watery.

  • Excellent and simple recipe! My recipe is almost identical. If making for myself only, I add more gsrlic. Keep in the fridge and snack on with fresh vegetables. Carrots, mushrooms, snow peas, radishes are all favorites. To those that are dubious, please give this recipe a try, it is a healthy addiction!
