Argentinian Flan

1 big flan
1 hr 25 min

Delicious flan that everyone loves, even my Latin-American friends.

Mix in the mixer the eggs until smooth. Add the condensed milk, evaporated milk and vanilla extract.

Then, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Whilst the oven is heating, melt sugar in a saucepan on low heat. Once it reaches a golden colour, turn the heat off and pour the caramel syrup into the bakeware. Let it cool down a bit before pouring the mixed eggs on top. Bake for 60 minutes. Let it cool down completely for at least 30 minutes.

Before serving, carefully flip the bakeware onto a tray and let the caramel cover the tray completely—this effect best achieved after a night in the fridge.

Cut into small slices and serve cold.

Hi. I'm so excited to make a flan for my family once I learn how. But first I must ask a question about step 4. I'm confused about a bowl? What type of bakeware am I to use to make this easier on me? And in step 7, am I flipping the flan over onto a serving tray? I guess I need to watch a demonstration in order to understand. Thank you so much. I'm excited to try this really soon.

Step 4, the ingredients that have been mixed in the bowl. I would guess baking it in a glass baking dish , judging from the amount of ingredients either an 8x8 or a little larger. I’m going to try this recipe and I will flip it over onto serving tray or cookie sheet. I don’t think it would matter since it would be served in individual dishes.
