Today, we’re making Watermelon Frose Popsicles!

These super simple, 4 ingredient pops are incredibly easy to make, incredibly delicious to eat, and an incredibly nostalgic reminder of summer sun and fun. And the fact that they’re boozy is just a bonus!

There’s really not a whole lot to tell you about this recipe. We’re going to take some frozen watermelon, some rose wine, a squeeze of lime juice, and a little agave syrup; then throw everything together in a blender. Hit the button, and you’ve done all of the work!

As a side note, make sure you use a wine that you’d like to drink. You can taste it in these pops, so don’t try to skimp because you think the fruit will hide the wine flavor. The watermelon and lime are there to compliment the wine, but its flavor is still front and center.

Now you could stop right here, get a pretty glass with a mini umbrella, and go enjoy a light and refreshing cocktail. And nobody would judge you for that! OR…you can grab some plastic popsicle sleeves, grab a little funnel, and make yourself a batch of drunken freezie pops which is obviously way more fun.

I got these popsicle sleeves from Amazon for just a couple of bucks, and it comes with a little funnel that makes things super easy to pour. We’re going to fill the sleeves but leave about an inch of room at the top before we zip them shut. We want to give our pops a little room to expand when they freeze, or else they will become a sticky mess. I may or may not have learned this lesson the hard way.

Years later, I’m still finding sticky spots in my freezer.

From there, I like to lay them on a plate to keep them flat. Then, we’ll pop them in the freezer for at least 6 hours. And when we’re ready to enjoy, we’ll have the most perfect, slushy, fruity, refreshing bite of summer.

These pops are dangerous. They go down so smooth, because they’re just the right balance of sweet and tart. And if we’re being honest, they’re just fun to eat. I always loved the part of the freezie pops that melted at the bottom of the plastic sleeve, you got a little drink after your snack. And, these do that too! That’s my favorite part, for sure.

Being a grown up is hard sometimes, and these fun little pops are the perfect way to remind us to relax and have a little fun.

I hope you enjoy (responsibly, or course)! And, let’s eat!

I really cannot stand the taste of watermelon. Is there a substitute I can use and if so what and how much?
