I don’t know about you, but I love easy! Especially when the kids ask to help in the kitchen, and it’s the end of a loooong day. These 3 ingredient Valentine treats for kids are simple enough for your 10 year old to make independently, and your 6 year old too-if you don’t count pre-heating the oven, popping the tray in and pulling it out.

How to Make the easiest 3 Ingredient Valentine Treats for Kids

To start with, you need 3 ingredients.

Nothing more!

Pretzel twists (you could use squares, but the twists look like hearts, so if available, go for the twists, as a preference)

Rolo-chocolate caramel candy (You could also use the milk chocolate or almond Hershey’s Kisses, to mix things up)

Valentine M&Ms (The pink and red M&Ms)

Start by laying out the pretzels, on a tray lined with parchment paper.

Next, while your oven preheats to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, place a Rolo (or Hershey’s Kiss) on each pretzel twist.

Once your tray is ready, place it in the oven for 2-4 minutes.

The key is to have the Rolos/Hershey’s Kisses start to soften, but not soften all the way through.

As soon as you get the tray out of the oven, carefully place an M&M on each Rolo/Kiss, and gently press it into the softened chocolate, allowing the chocolate to spread not ooze!

If your chocolate quickly loses shape as you press the M&M into it, you know your chocolate has melted and while your treat will still taste good, it won’t hold shape and look as great.

We left our tray in the oven a few seconds too long. You can see the chocolate is in that in between stage of just-right and melted.

Set the prepared 3 ingredient Valentine treats aside to cool.

You can pop it in the refrigerator, for about 15 minutes, to speed up the cooling.

Or leave the tray out to cool.

Once the Rolos have set, serve your treats,

and then place the leftovers in an airtight container…

uhm, that is, if you have any extras left over.

The kids love these!!

Who can blame them?

It’s hard to stop with just one!

Make a large batch of these.

Place a handful in each treat bag, add one of my free printable Valentine’s Day cards, and leave these treats for your kids’ friends, this Valentine’s Day.

So easy to make, plus an added bonus-they really do look like heart shaped treats!

I've been making this crowd-favorite treat forever; I use waffle pretzels to help support the spread of the softened rolo, a nice looking finish-

Yes! I need to remember to buy the waffle pretzels! They're my go-to when I do the Rolo+Pecan version :)
