These Carrot Shaped Puff Pastry Appetizers are light and airy with a savory and creamy filling of Alouette Cheese. Garnished with a piece of fresh parsley these savory cream horns mimic Easter carrots to impress your guests. This post is sponsored by Alouette. All opinions are that of my own.

Looking for an easy Easter appetizer that is made with just 4 grocery ingredients? Stress no more because I have the perfect Easter Hors d’oeuvre that will make everyone smile! These Puff Pastry Carrots are made with a delicate pastry dough that is rolled into spiral cones, brushed with an egg wash, and baked until golden. They can be filled with any number of savory fillings, but our favorite is Alouette Garlic and Herb Cheese Spread.

It is the combination of the light, flaky, and crispy pastry dough paired with the creamy herbed cheese that makes this an irresistible appetizer that will have your guests coming back for more. The Alouette herb-infused cream cheese gives each bite a luscious flavor while remaining light enough to not overpower the delicate pastry shell. Serve these delightful treats at your next gathering, or simply enjoy them as a snack — they’re sure to be a hit either way at your Easter festivities.

Carrot-Shaped Puff Pastry Appetizers Ingredients:

Puff Pastry – I used frozen puff pastry dough that comes with two sheets per box. They must be thawed until pliable to be able to assemble the perfect puff pastry horn.

Egg – You will need one egg to make an egg wash to coat the puff pastry with. This is an easy way to make the pastry look glossy and golden. You can use a whole egg or simply just the yolk, which will give your pastry a deep golden color when it bakes.

Alouette Soft Spreadable Cheese – Available in many flavors like Spinach & Artichoke, Smoky Jalapeno, Toasted Everything, Garden Vegetable, and Garlic & Herbs Soft Spreadable Cheese –these are all delicious! I love the Garlic & Herbs flavor the most so it was only natural I used this flavor for our appetizer.

Parsley – You will need fresh parsley to make the carrot tops. This also adds flavor to the overall appetizer.

How to Make Carrot-Shaped Puff Pastry

Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Spray the molds with nonstick baking spray; set aside.

Unfold and gently roll out the pastry dough into a large rectangle. Using a pastry wheel, cut ¾ inch strips in the dough.

Wrap dough strips around the greased horn molds starting from the pointy tip and going up. Do not go all the way up to the top of the mold -leave at least one inch of space to make removal easy.

Position wrapped molds at least 2 inches apart. Brush each puff pastry carrot with an egg wash.

Bake for 17-19 minutes on a parchment-line baking sheet or until puff pastry is puffy, golden brown, and crispy on the outside.

Allow the carrots to cool for 5 minutes before removing them from the molds. If you struggle these mold are adjustable. Simply squeeze the mold to release it. Once they are all removed, allow the shells to cool for 5 additional minutes.

A cup of garlic and herb cream cheese.

Fill a pastry bag equipped with a large star tip with 6.5 ounces of Alouette Garlic & Herbs Soft Spreadable Cream Cheese. Pipe each carrot with about 1 tablespoon of cheese. Add a small piece of fluffy parsley to the top of each carrot.
