Hello foodie friends,

How about a homemade crispy garlic chili oil? A tasty and delicious dipping sauce for breads, dumplings, pop stickers or simple over eggs, avocado toast, rice or anything else you like.

This one of my new recipes posted on my Instagram page. My rendition of one of Trader Joe's popular products the crispy chili onion oil. The ingredients are so simple and un expensive, these are:

  • Extra Virgin olive oil
  • Chili peppers
  • Garlic
  • salt

My special addition to this recipe is adding Trader Joe's Soffritto spices for extra layer of flavor. I love this soffritto combination, because it adds a extra layer of crunchiness and flavor from of dry herbs, like sage, parsley and rosemary, the sweetness from dry tomatoes, and extra dry onion, garlic and chili peppers. I also like to use this soffritto as dipping sauce with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

It can also be sued as marinade with chicken, beef or seafood. I can wait to share new recipes using this tasty and crispy oil as marinade.

This homemade garlic chili crips is so easy to make and store to savor it with your next cheese platter.

Slowly simmer to infuse oil with all the goodness from the garlic and pepper flakes.

Stores well in this mason jar and so handy to use in many recipes.

Enjoy!

The perfect finishing touch to this goat cheese toast.

Let's Dishplay it together and ELEVATE home cooked meals!

  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 Tbsp of red pepper flakes
  • pinch of salt
  • Optional:
  • 1 Tbsp of Trader Joe's Soffritto seasoning
Instructions

Method #1
First in a hot stainless steel pan, add the olive oil and gently let it heat up for 2 minutes, then add the spices, garlic and chili peppers. Let is simmer for 8-10 minutes.
Let it sit for about 1 hour so the oil comes to room temperature before serving.
Method #2
The other method, I suggest for a less crunchy version is to heat up the oil for about 8 minutes in a pan. Once is hot, carefully add the oil into a bowl with garlic, spices and red chili pepper.
Let it sit for an hour, so flavors are combines and infused.
In a bowl add the garlic, spices and chili pepper .
