It’s the most wonderful time of the year y’all!

And since this year has totally sucked soooo we’ll take what we can get.

BUT, Vic’s here to SAVE THE YEAR!

(Didn’t even mean to rhyme there, but I’m just that good)

With the ultimate holiday shortcut:

The STAPLE Vanilla Cookie Dough

I know what you’re thinking: “Really, Vic…vanilla? How is this my holiday lifesaver?”

Well, Trickster, I am SO glad you asked! Because this year, my goal is to make as many different kinds of cookies, using this exact same dough.

I know, crazy right? But, that’s just me *hair flip*.

I’ll walk you through how to make the dough and how to cook it then and there OR save it and use for later.

Either way, here’s my basic vanilla cookie dough recipe and stay tuned for the MOTHAEFFIN ITERATIONS, KID.

Vic Trick: Seriously, I plan on making a TON of different types of cookies using THIS SAME DOUGH!!!

Keep in mind, no matter what, this will result in a crispy cookie, so if you want a chewy sugar cookie, I’ll post that another time.

But, stop being so needy…

This dough starts off like pretty much every other cookie dough…creaming the butter and sugar.

Take 1 cup sugar and 1 cup softened butter and mix until completely combined and kinda fluffy.

Add in an egg and 2 tsp of vanilla and mix until combined.

In a separate bowl, combine 2 and 3/4 cup of flour and 1 tsp of baking powder, then add that mixture, 1 cup at a time, until mixed. It will be pretty stiff.

Empty the contents out onto some parchment and use your hands to bring the dough together into 3 balls. Then press down to form them into disks.

Now, if you’re ready to bake, roll each disk into a 1/4 inch sheet and set aside in the freezer for 15-20 minutes or the fridge for an hour, then cut into desired shapes and bake at 350° for 18-20 minutes or so or until the edges turn brown.

If saving for later use, wrap each disc in plastic wrap then put into a freezer bag and store for up to 3 months!

I’ve got 9 discs ready to rock, so stay tuned folks!

Happy Eating!
