One of my favorite food combinations is definitely peanut butter and chocolate. It's been that way ever since I bit into my very first Peanut Butter Blossom cookie when I was just a kid. My mom made them every year right around the holidays and they would be gone within days. There is nothing quite like that soft and chewy melt in your mouth peanut butter cookie topped with a sweet chocolate candy and a sprinkle of sugar. Thankfully, when I grew up and started making these sweet treats for my family, I didn't have to wait until the holidays to eat them. But of course, they are still part of our family tradition and we always pack a few in with other Christmas cookies for family and friends!

Recipe details
Ingredients
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 bag chocolate kisses candy
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside. Cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs one at a time. Add in vanilla and peanut butter. Combine flour and soda in another bowl. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet. Mix until just combined. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350. Scoop a Tablespoon of dough into your hand and roll it into a ball. Place on the baking sheet and press down slightly with a fork. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove and add one chocolate candy to the center of each cookie. Return the cookies to the oven for 2 minutes. Remove and allow the cookies to cool slightly before moving them to a wire rack. Cool completely before storing in an air-tight container. Makes 4 dozen cookies.

My mom made these for us while growing up and I am 67. I also made them for my 4 boys and sold a lot of them too. Great cookie.
