Warm, fresh, chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven are probably my biggest weakness. The only thing that could possibly make them better? Browning the butter. Although it takes a little extra time and effort to brown the butter, it is totally worth it. It adds that extra rich, nutty, savory flavor that reminds me of Christmas. Who doesn’t love that? These are the best cookies to make on repeat that will always hit the spot. Your soon to be go-to! Every bite has a slight crispy edge, but still soft and chewy in the center. Truly the best.

Brown butter is the key ingredient.

Refrigerate the dough before baking so the cookies don’t flatten and spread too much.

Freshly baked is the best!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Instructions

In a saucepan on medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, stir constantly until the butter is golden brown.
Pour into a large bowl and place in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes.
Once it’s cooled, take it out and add in the sugars, egg, and vanilla.
Then mix in the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
Fold in the chocolate chips then chill for a half hour or so.
Place dough on a greased cookie sheet and put additional chocolate chips on top of course!
Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are just starting to turn golden brown.

  • I like it! Pinned for cooler weather. I work at a small female owned business and since it is a start up, we are all working for peanuts at the current time. I cook and bake a lot and it doesn't take much to keep our small staff happy. This will be perfect! Pinned for cooler weather, bone chilling 108° today!

i just typed a comment and tried to add a photo but as soon as I took the pic my message is gone and it just went back to this page. I bake breads and desserts all the time but this was a waste of ingredients. I followed the instructions to a T but these spread ridiculously, are over browned and not cooked in the center.
