I LOVE chocolate chip cookies, and my husband and kids do, too. When we are craving chocolate chip cookies, we have one go-to recipe that we use. The recipe is easy, quick, and it make the best tasting chocolate chip cookies every time!
I make the dough for these cookies using a KitchenAid stand mixture. But if you don’t have a stand mixture, it would be easy enough to mix this simple dough recipe by hand.
These are simple drop cookies, so no cookie cutters are needed. You simply drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a greased baking sheet or one lined with a silicone baking mat and bake. Easy peasy!
These cookies are so good and disappear quickly!

Recipe details
Ingredients
- 1 stick softened butter
- 1.3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Cream (or mix) the white and brown sugars with the butter in a mixer.
- Add in the egg and vanilla and mix some more.
- In a separate mixing bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Add the dry (flour, baking soda and salt) mixture to the butter and sugar mixture, and mix them together in your mixer.
- Add in the chocolate chips and mix some more until well combined. You cookie dough is ready!
- Drop the cookies onto baking sheets covered with silicone baking mats, or sheets that have been greased with butter. Make approximately 24 spoonfuls of the cookie dough on 2 baking sheets.
- Place the baking sheets in the oven. Bake until the cookies are lightly browned, for approximately 8-10 minutes.
- Move the cookies to a baking cooling rack to cool before serving.
Tips
- Be sure to watch the cookies when they in the oven. I usually check at about 8 minutes and see if they can use a minute or two extra or should be taken out. The cookies can brown quite quickly.
- I use a silicone baking mat on my cookie sheets. It makes clean up a lot easier!
- Let the cookies rest for about a minute or so before trying to transfer them to a cooling rack to cool. They are easier to move when they aren't super hot and soft.
