Use up those end of summer freshly ripened purple plums in a richly flavorful homemade pie. Slice plums and coat with sugar. Place pie filling in a homemade pie crust and enjoy!
I know I know…when you hear the words “prune pie” you are thinking about a number 2 disaster waiting to happen…but no no, it’s not like that. While a trip to my local grocery store, the fruit department was loaded with fresh peaches and plums. Rather than just buy 1 or 2 of each, I bought a whole pound of each and knew I wanted to make a pie.
Plums & Prunes
Homemade Pie Crust
Place the pie crust in a round pie dish and spoon in plums. Bake at 350°F for 40-50 minutes, or until pie crust is throughly cooked.

Ingredients
- 5 plums, sliced in 1/2" thick slices
- 1/8 c sugar
- 1 pie crust
Instructions
- wash and pie plums
- slice plums into 1/2" thick slices
- place plums in bowl and gently coat with sugar
- place pie crust in round pie dish and shape
- add pie filling
- bake at 350°F for 40-50 minutes or until the crust is throughly cooked

This is so pretty! I bet it tasted wonderful.
Recipe says wash and pie plums. Is that dry plums? Bet it is. I'm getting plums tomorrow!!
