I have been making this same Blueberry Apple Crisp Recipe for years, and it never disappoints. It’s one of those classics I just never tire of. It makes a wonderful dessert served warm with a scoop of ice cream on it, but could equally be enjoyed as an indulgent treat for brunch.

It is best to use a nice tart cooking apple for this recipe. I prefer to use Granny Smith Apples as they seem to hold their shape nicely when baked and they don’t overpower the dish with sweetness.

If you have never tried making an apple crisp before, I highly recommend you do! It’s one of the most simple desserts to make and also one of the most comforting to eat.

Arrange the prepared apples and blueberries in a well buttered baking dish. It already looks good enough to eat, don’t you think?

Evenly distribute the oat and brown sugar mixture all over the apples and place in the oven to bake.

After about 30 minutes the top should be a beautiful golden brown and the apples nice and soft.

I recommend using a large spoon to scoop out individual portions.

Add a good sized scoop of ice cream to the warm crisp and enjoy!

A beautiful delicious dessert made from just a few basic ingredients.
