Today, I'm thrilled to share a recipe that epitomizes simplicity and comfort: The easiest sour cream biscuits for those mornings when you realize your kids ate all the bread while you were sleeping and you woke up starving.

This three-ingredient wonder is a game-changer for anyone who loves homemade biscuits but not the fuss that usually comes with making them.

Picture this: fluffy, tender biscuits with a delightful tang, coming together with just self-rising flour, sour cream, and a bit of milk.

The process is straightforward - mix the ingredients, roll out the dough, cut into shapes, and bake to golden perfection. In less than 15 minutes, you have a batch of warm biscuits ready to be slathered with butter, jam, or honey.

Perfect for a cozy breakfast, a side for your dinner, or just a snack, these biscuits are a testament to the beauty of lazy baking which is my cup of tea. So, roll up your sleeves and get ready to bake the easiest biscuits you'll ever make!

Can you use Greek yoghurt instead if sour cream?

    • Cocotel Cocotel on Jan 15, 2024

I was wondering that myself, I wasn't sure if the content of Greek yogurt would activate the rising agent in the flour the same way as sour cream or buttermilk. One recipe said to add a touch of lemon juice to the yogurt to give it a bit more tang, thus making it more like sour cream. Another recipe did call for Greek yogurt with the self-rising flour however they made a point of saying it needed to be a full-fat variety. Hope that helps!

    What size container sour cream???

    • Cocotel Cocotel on Jan 15, 2024

I found another recipe on-line that calls for 4 cups Self-Rising Flour, 16 ounces Sour Cream and 1/2-3/4 cup Milk. It's double the amounts called for in this recipe. So I guess the answer to your question is 8 ounces (1 cup) of sour cream. I so dislike it when a recipe is posted on this site and the author never answers any questions that are asked.
