How Do You Make A Creamy Raspberry Smoothie?

There is nothing like waking up in the morning to enjoy a creamy smoothie to get your day started. Some tips for making the thickest and creamiest smoothie are the following:

  • Make sure the fruit is frozen!! This is what gives you that ice cream-like texture
  • Avocado is another great consistency helper. It is super good for consistency and the flavor is not strong and easier to hide
  • Make sure to puree your vegetables if your smoothie recipe has them
  • Freeze your milk into ice cubes
  • Greek Yogurt is a great source of protein and healthy fats and gives a great creamy texture
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Coconut Meat
  • Silken Tofu

Tips For Making Raspberry Creamsicle Smoothies:

Some extra tips to help you get the best raspberry creamsicle smoothie are:

  • Bananas that are extra ripe! Now normally if you go to eat a banana you might not think to grab the one with any brown spots. However, these bananas are AMAZING for smoothies because they not only blend very well, but you will get the creamiest smoothie.
  • Freezing your bananas is always my preferred way to enjoy a smoothie. The frozen bananas will help with the consistency of the recipe. Wait! Before you freeze your bananas, make sure to peel them because if you don’t they will be super hard to take off.
  • Do you want your smoothie to be sweeter? If you answered yes, you can use some honey or sugar to add to the creamsicle smoothie. I prefer to enjoy the recipe as is because the sweetness is nice and delicate and doesn’t overpower the flavor.

Can You Use Fresh Raspberries Instead Of Frozen Ones?

I prefer using frozen raspberries for this smoothie recipe. However, it is ok to use fresh raspberries as well.

How Do You Make A Creamsicle Smoothie Thicker?

By using frozen fruits and optional additional add-ins which you can see below. Not only will it improve the thickness of the recipe but it will also help with blending the ingredients.

Raspberry Creamsicle Smoothie Add-Ins:

If you are looking to add an additional ingredient to increase the level of healthy fats or protein, then you can use some of these below!

  • Protein Powder which this recipe uses can get you about 16g to 24g of protein with just 1 serving!
  • Chia Seeds or flax seeds are superfoods because they contain a bunch of health benefits like fiber, protein, and omega 3 fatty acids. You will only need about 1-2 tsp.
  • I love using nut butter like cashew or almond butter for more protein!
