Healthy Cherry “Pie” Morning Smoothie “ Jersey Girl Knows Best
My oh my, do I love me some cherries! I like to change up my morning smoothie for fear of boredom, so this time I figured I would use some of the frozen cherries I have in my freezer leftover from a cherry pie I made a few months back. I can’t wait for you to try it! Ready?! Let’s do this!
Can I start off by saying that before I blend this amazing smoothie, it smells amazing! *drool* I use most of my basic smoothie recipe ingredients here and I blend it all together with cherry pie filling ingredients. Please don’t use cherry pie filling, fresh is always better!
I use my favorite Ninja blender to get the right consistency of this cherry pie morning smoothie. This is way healthier than actual cherry pie…did I mention that?! 😆
After blending all the ingredients together, the color of this cherry pie morning smoothie is a pale pink.
It’s time to enjoy it! Mind you I love homemade cherry pie, but this cherry pie morning smoothie will do the trick and it won’t hurt my waistline. I hope you enjoyed this recipe and you follow me for more on my YouTube channel, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest!

Recipe details
Ingredients
- 1 small container vanilla light yogurt
- 1 small banana
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1 Tbsp. flaxseed or chia seed
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
- 1/4 tsp. Almond extract
- 1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
Instructions
- Put all ingredients into a smoothie/shake cup and blend until fully combined. Add a straw, drink and enjoy! 🍒
Tips
- ***Please do not use cherry pie filling***
- You can omit the banana for a stronger cherry flavor, but I would increase the oats by 1/4 cup and you may need a little more water.
- You can also use cherry yogurt instead of vanilla yogurt.
- You can also use frozen tart cherries, but it may be less sweet, obviously!

You said to use 1/4 dark sweet cherries. Do you mean 1/4 cup or 1/4 pkg?
