Raw mango juice is a cool refreshing energy drink to satisfy summer quench. It's the perfect summer drink and in India we say it as Kacche aam ka sharbat (raw mango drink). With its amazing mix of sweet and sour flavours, this beverage is a wonderful way to cool off during the summer heat. As raw mangoes are available in summer and it has loads of nutrition to beat heat stroke or dehydration.

There are lots of benefits of raw mango juice. I love this recipe as it doesn’t take lot of preparation time and is very easy to make. You can also make this recipe by adding jaggery. My daughter love this healthy drink too and I give her when she come back from school.

It's very important to remove pesticides before using these raw mangoes . To do so, wash well with water, soak in turmeric water for 10 to 15 min and then rinse thoroughly again under running water and it's ready to use. This raw mango drink takes just a few minutes to prepare and requires a few basic ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 2 raw green mangoes (medium size)
  • 10-15 fresh pudina (mint leaves)
  • 1/ 2 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 3 to 4 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Rock salt
  • 1 Cup soda
  • 1/2 cup chilled water
  • 5 to 6 ice cubes
Instructions

Wash the mangoes and then peel off the skin. Chop the pulp into small pieces and discard the seeds.
Put the chopped pulp into a blender jar, and add the sugar, roasted cumin powder, mint leaves,rock salt, lemon juice and few Ice cubes.
Pour in 1/2 cup of chilled water. Put on the lid and blend until the mango pieces, sugar, and mint leaves are ground fine.
Pour more chilled water and adjust the consistency.
Now pour the raw mango sharbat into a jar, add in the crushed ice and mix it well.
Serve the chilled, delicious, raw mango sharbat with chilled soda immediately.
Garnish with lemon and fresh mint leaves!
Tips
  • Don’t use very sour mangoes for making raw mango juice .
  • You can also make this recipe by adding jaggery.
  • Adding lemon juice is optional.
  • Raw mango should be avoided if you are already suffering from cold or cough.
