Cocktails & Celebrations Easy Fall Apple Cider Sangria:

What would Fall in Michigan be without a trip to an apple orchard?

And while others find delicious things to bake with their Fall apple and pear haul, I like my fruit with a little bit of warmth and kick to it!

Easy Fall Apple Cider Sangria

Easy Fall Apple Cider Sangria

Sangria is delicious all year round but there is something special about Sangria in the Fall (you can find my favorite summer sangria recipe here).

It makes the perfect cocktail for a group because you can make it ahead of time.

Bourbon adds warmth to this sangria and makes it the perfect cocktail for bonfire weather here in the midwest.

A bonus, Northern Michigan is known for its apple and pear orchards so I usually have lots of fruit on hand this time of year.

Fresh Fall Fruits and Citrus is perfect for Sangria

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium pears
  • 2 Honey Crisp Apples
  • 2/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 cups of fresh apple cider
  • 1 cup of bourbon
  • 1 bottle dry red wine
  • Cinnamon sticks

Directions:

So I promised this was an easy Fall sangria.

Here we go.

Directions

  • Dice the apples and pears
  • Placed diced fruit into a medium bowl and pour the bourbon over it. Add 2 cinnamon sticks.
  • Place mixture into the refrigerator to marinate for 4 hours.
  • In a large pitcher combine the wine, apple cider, orange, and lemon juice.
  • Pour the bourbon mixture into the pitcher after removing the cinnamon sticks
  • Stir well and refrigerate for another hour and then pour into pretty glasses
Use Red wine for warmth in this sangria

Garnish with fresh Cinnamon sticks and enjoy!

Makes 4 servings

I said it was easy!

I personally think it’s the bourbon/cinnamon addition that makes this sangria so warm and cozy.

Until next time,
