We have a friend from Hawaii who taught us how to make this yummy chicken dish. He brought it to a BBQ and it was a hit!!! It has rapidly become one of our family’s Favorite dishes. I love that it’s rather simple to make and the recipe can easily be doubled to feed a crowd.

Start by gathering all of your ingredients and gadgets. It helps when they are all in the same area.

you’ll need:

• 5 lbs Frozen Chicken thighs

•1 cup soy sauce

•1/2 cup water

•1cup sugar

•1/2-1-1/2 teaspoon ginger powder

•2 cloves garlic; minced

•1TBSP- oyster sauce (optional)

•1 TBSP- Mirin (optional)

Peel and press or mince the garlic (and the ginger- if using fresh ginger). We like to use a garlic press. Add it to all the other ingredients, in a large pot.

Add in the Chicken thighs, turn the heat and bring to a boil. When pot is boiling, lower heat to medium and continue cooking for 30 minutes, or until done.

We like to serve Shoyu Chicken over white rice and steamed veggies on the side. Our kids love it and eat it too so that’s a bonus. We hope you’ll try it and love it too.
