Air Fried Smashed Brussels Sprouts

Move over smashed potatoes because here comes smashed brussels sprouts! They're crispy on the outside but super soft on the inside. Such a yummy side dish or appetizer served with dip. I served these as a side dish accompanied by chicken kebabs, rice, and garlic sauce. So yummy!

I was planning on serving these alongside my holiday dinner and bought SO many brussels sprouts, but unfortunately due to circumstances we had to postpone our family gathering. Now I just have a fridge full of brussels sprouts and have to get super creative with the rest.

Air Fried Smashed Brussels Sprouts

  • 2 cups brussels sprouts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • juice from 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1 tbsp honey

Place the brussels sprouts in a microwavable safe bowl with water then microwave for approximately 5 minutes until soft. You can also boil them in a pot but this is quicker!
Remove them from the microwave then squish them using the bottom of a cup or bowl to flatten them
Place in your air fryer and toss with olive oil, lemon juice, balsamic, and seasonings of choice
Air fry at 350F for 5 minutes per side (may need longer) Enjoy!
