The best Italian sausage (sweet or spicy) in air fryer (from fresh or frozen sausage). Easy, quick high protein recipe for the perfect air fried dinner.


Air fryer Italian sausage – Ingredients


The Italian sausage I buy in Europe comes fresh in stores, already spiced. A package I purchase is usually around 600g (1,3 lbs) and contains 4 sausages.


FROZEN ITALIAN SAUSAGE: If you happen to have frozen Italian sausage on hand, leave it to thaw in the fridge overnight/or while at work. Then cook like described below.

Ingredients
Air Fryer Italian Sausage
  • 600 g (one pack) Italian sausage, spiced
For Brushing
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil, or other vegetable oil
Instructions

Remove packaging (thaw beforehand if needed) and make a few small holes alongside each sausage. That allows air to float within during cooking.
Place sausages in air fryer basket and set the timer to 15 minutes on 200C/400F.
Halfway though cooking (after 7 minutes), remove basket and turn sausages around to get them evenly browned on each side.
Continue with cooking for the remaining time. Serve immediately.

Place into air fryer basked and air fry for 15-12 minutes, while turning the sausage around after 7-10 minutes. Air fry on 200C/400F.
Tips
  • If Italian sausage is frozen leave in the fridge overnight or during work hours, then cook as described above.
