Another Passover staple I always found at our holiday table was Haroset. This is the Georgian version that my parents always made. They use hazelnut rather then walnut which the typical recipe calls for.

Start off with a handful of unsalted hazelnuts, about 1/2 a cup in the food processor.

Add a handful of dried plums and raisins.

Combine in the food processor.

Peel and core 5 apples. I don't think it matters what kind of apples but my dad prefers green.

Add the apples to the food processor.

Run the food processor until the spread and mixed and chopped well. If you prefer it to be a little more chunky, run on a lower setting. We prefer it to be a little more on the blended side.

This spread goes great that the savory matzo babka in my pervious post or just on plain matzo!

The spread is sweet with the apples and dried fruit but not overly sweet with no added sugar! Even though this is typically a dish for Passover dinner it is pretty delicious any time of year or toast or crackers.
