Nothing like a warm cup of stew this time of year! But sometimes you just need to drop it in a pot and run around doing a million other things!

You will need the basics, beef chunks, carrots and potatoes.

I also like adding some spices. My go to is always garlic salt & onion powder for just about everything but I also like adding some chili powder, crushed red pepper flakes and oregano to my stew.

Chop all ingredients and add them to the slow cooker along with chopped onion.

Ok here you got some options, a lot of stew recipes call for broth broth but what is broth? Its the liquid you get from cooking meat! So I feel like this is an unnecessary ingredient because you are already going to naturally create broth.

The other question is, how thick do you like your stew? I personally like it really thick so I usually just add a little bit of water, about 1/2 a cup.

This one is a bit odd but stick with me! I also like adding just a table spoon of ketchup! I think it gives the dish more flavor.

Cook in high for 5 hours or low for 8 and enjoy.
