Four Ingredient Apple Fruit Salad
Today I am sharing another easy recipe from my childhood: Four Ingredient Apple Fruit Salad! I think my mom would usually peel the apples to make this, but I think leaving the skin on makes it prettier and healthier.
No Substitutions Allowed!
This recipe calls for Miracle Whip, which is “salad dressing.” Miracle Whip tastes a whole lot different than mayonnaise, so don’t try to substitute mayo in this apple salad recipe. Trust me!
If you need to whip up something quickly to take to a small (or large) get together, then this is so easy to make!
It is also a good way to use up apples and/or bananas that need eaten before they go bad.
This apple salad is nostalgic for me because we ate it when I was small.
How to Make the Easiest Ever Four Ingredient Apple Salad:
Core 3 apples. (I used Gala. Any kind of apple will work.)
Slice the apples into bite sized pieces.
Slice 3 bananas right into the bowl using a butter knife.
Add 2 cups of miniature marshmallows.
Then stir in 1/3 to 1/2 cup Miracle Whip. Do NOT substitute mayonnaise. It will not taste right at all.
3 apples. 3 bananas. 2 cups mini marshmallows. 1/3 to 1/2 cup Miracle Whip. That's it! After stirring, refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
This will keep for a day or 2 in the fridge, but it is best eaten the first day. It is an easy dish to take to a potluck. Enjoy!
You can make this fruit salad a little fancier by serving it in an ice cream sundae dish like I did. It would be fun to serve it this way for a tea party or a ladies luncheon, brunch, or shower.

Never heard of Miracle Whip as the base. My mom always used sour cream. Will have to give this a try.
I will try it, but plan to add grapes and pecans. Mmmmm…..
