Say goodbye to boring turkey burger recipes!! This turkey burger is the perfect balance between salty and sweet, with the savoury patty, and sweet grilled pineapple.

Impress your guests at your next dinner party with these delicious burgers. These will have you feel like you're on a tropical vacation.

If you love pineapple, this is a recipe you need to try! If you have a bbq, the pineapple would grill much better on there. I personally do not have a bbq, so I just use a non-stick pan, and they turn at just as good.

Super simple ingredients that I'm sure you'll have in your fridge/pantry!

Ingredients

  • 500g (1lb 1 3/4 oz) Minced Turkey
  • 5 Pineapple rings
  • 1.5 tbsp Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 50g (1 3/4 oz) of lettuce
  • ½ cup (3/4 oz) Breadcrumbs
  • 6 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 green onion stalks
Instructions

To a medium bowl add ground turkey, breadcrumbs, teriyaki sauce, garlic and shallot.
Season with salt & pepper.
Using damp hands, portion the meat mixture into 4 equally shaped patties.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat, when hot add around 1 tbsp of olive oil, then the patties.
Pan fry until the burgers are fully cooked (around 6 minutes).
While the patties are cooking, cut the pineapple into rings and the green onions in half.
Remove the patties from the pan and then place the pineapple & green onion in the pan to char for 1-2 minutes per side.
Remove from the pan.
Roughly chop the grilled green onions and add them to a small bowl with the mayo, season with salt and pepper.
To assemble: lightly toast buns, coat with green onion mayo, place a ring of pineapple, the burger patty, lettuce, more mayo and then the top bun.
Enjoy!
