Sourdough Discard Waffles

You may have noticed that I am on a sourdough baking adventure. Making sourdough requires a lot of sourdough discard since you have to feed the yeast (I have a new dependent now). Waffles are very popular in my house. I usually make a bunch on the weekend to eat fresh and then store in the fridge for quick breakfast through out the week.
Start with 1 cup warmed milk.
Stir in 1/2 a cup of sourdough discard.
Crack on egg (get a little helper!)
Add two table spoons of sugar.
1 tbsp of olive oil.
1 cups of flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
And cinnamon.. we like cinnamon so we usually just sprinkle it in until it looks like enough (maybe 1/2 tsp).
Mix it all together and pour into a waffle press. I feel like you can't go wrong with heart shapes! The kiddos love it.
Press for about 4 minutes.
We like our waffles with strawberries, bananas, maple syrup AND honey! At least she is getting fruits and you know all the ingredients are real.
