Easy Cinnamon-Sugar Monkey Bread

This ooey-gooey easy cinnamon-sugar monkey bread recipe is as simple as it is delicious!

It was always a favorite treat of mine growing up. I remember the anticipation as the sweet smell of the bread filled the kitchen air. (I had a thing for carbs and sweets even back then!)

The monkey bread was devoured as soon as it came out of the oven, followed immediately by requests for my mom to make more. Now, I enjoy making it for my own family.

Ingredients

This is a great recipe to involve kids. With just five basic ingredients, it’s perfect for a casual Sunday brunch or for any time you are craving something sweet.

Biscuits, butter, cinnamon, and sugar are all you need for this recipe.

Cinnamon-Sugar Monkey Bread Ingredients

  • 3 tubes buttermilk biscuits (8 ounces each)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup browns sugar (packed)

Directions

To begin, preheat the oven to 350℉. While the oven preheats, generously grease a bundt pan with butter or cooking spray. Then, open the tubes of biscuits and cut each biscuit into four, bite-sized pieces.

Preparing the biscuits and the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Next, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl and mix well. Gently drop the pieces of dough into the bowl and cover each with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Then, layer the dough pieces evenly in the bundt pan.

Layering the biscuits in the bundt pan. Besides eating the monkey bread, this step is my girls’ favorite part of the process.

Then, in a small saucepan, add the butter, brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture. Stir gently and bring to a boil. When the sugar is dissolved, drizzle the sauce over the bundt pan.

Ready for the oven!

Place the bundt pan into the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the monkey bread is done. Carefully remove the pan from the oven and allow the monkey bread to rest for approximately 5 minutes. Then, invert the bundt pan onto a large plate and serve the monkey bread warm.

YUM! Hot and fresh cinnamon-sugar monkey bread.
