Old Fashion Meatloaf
Meatloaf is a comfort food staple, and there are so many different traditional family recipes out there. Well this meatloaf is our family recipe that my momma made me for years and now I make for my family.
It is always a hit with my family. In fact, my husband loves it so much that he asked for it instead of a birthday cake one year for his birthday.
This old fashion meatloaf recipe is an easy the step process. You mix all of the meatloaf ingredients in one bowl and all of the sauce ingredients in another.
Form the meatloaf in a pan and pour the sauce over it and it is ready to bake!
The hearty meatloaf is covered in a sweet and savory sauce that your family is sure to love!
Meatloaf is perfect paired with creamy mashed potatoes and a vegetable. Substitute mashed cauliflower to make it a low carb meal!

Ingredients
For the meatloaf
- 2 lb lean ground beef
- 1 egg
- 3 slices bread
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
For the sauce
- 1, 15oz can tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. Yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp. Tomato paste
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Soak bread in milk for 10 minutes. Then mix with remaining meatloaf ingredients in a large bowl.
- Mix all sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
- Form meatloaf and place in a small casserole dish and top with sauce.
- Bake for 1 hour.
Tips
- Make the meatloaf up the night before and place in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
