Corned Beef is a flavor and tender salt-brined cut of beef. Follow any of these three easy methods for making Corned Beef Brisket either on the Stovetop, Instant Pot, or Slow Cooker. After cooking the Corned Beef Brisket is finished in the oven for 15 minutes just to brown it and give it a nice crust. Serve it with my Irish Colcannon (Mashed Potatoes & Cabbage) and Roasted Baby Carrots for a complete mouthwatering meal!!!
This is definitely a recipe that you’ll want to save to be able to refer to three methods for making Corned Beef Brisket. Instead of boiling the traditional cabbage, potatoes, and carrots with or after the brisket, make it more interesting and try my recipe for Irish Colcannon (Mashed Potatoes & Cabbage). It’s a traditional Irish dish that is a mix of rough mashed potatoes and garlic sautéed cabbage with crumbled bacon and green onions on top. Colcannon is a traditional dish for Halloween, a holiday which has ancient Celtic and Irish origins. But in the United States we celebrate the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day by eating what we consider Irish-type dishes and food. My recipe for Roasted Baby Carrots, instead of the traditional bland boiled carrots, is another recipe that is so much more appealing and delicious! This combination will satisfy everyone at the table!!!

Make sure to allow the time needed to make the recipe depending on the cooking method you choose. DO NOT SKIP THE LAST STEP! The last 15 minutes in the oven browns the Corned Beef Brisket and gives it a slight crust which makes all the difference. Also be sure to save some of the au jus to serve with the Corned Beef Brisket. You’ll be glad that you did!

WHY IS IT CALLED CORNED BEEF BRISKET?

Corned Beef is a beef brisket cut that has been salt-cured. The term “corned” comes from the large-grains of rock salt that is used which are also known as “corns” of salt. The Corned Beef Brisket is then boiled in water that is seasoned with a special spice blend of mustard seeds, allspice, coriander, cloves, black peppercorns, and cardamom pods. Brisket is a tough cut of beef that requires a special method of cooking. Corned Beef Brisket is tenderized through the salt-curing process which ensures that it will be easily sliceable and fork tender.

I make 20lb of corned beef brisket for our employees every year and have to use both the stove top and slow cooker method just to get it done fster. Both work well. These times are spot on for the amount in the recipe. Be sure to increase time for larger amounts. I also serve with a 4 ingredient mustard sauce that people can not get enough of lol

Thank you for showing all different ways in one place!
