YES! This recipe. Wow. Something you did not know you were missing, but once you have it, you will not go back. A few years ago I made a homemade strawberry syrup that was to die for. I added it to everything- drinks, desserts, yogurt. It was SO fresh and such a perfect way to bottle up strawberries when they were in season.

Now, as I write this and when I created this, it is winter-definitely not peak strawberry season. But, it will be here in just a couple months and you will be ready with this fun and different way to use them!

I love a new coffee or tea beverage. Especially playing with cold foam, this is my favorite thing. I have a nice Chai Tea Latte mix I have where you just warm up your milk and stir in the Chai Tea Latte mix. A few month ago I also made a homemade reduced chai coffee syrup where I ground whole fresh spices and reduced them with LOTS of sugar to make this syrup. BUT for this recipe, the focus is the strawberry cold foam, so just make it easy on yourself and use a chai latte mix you love.

Spend just 10 minutes reducing your strawberries and sugar into a thickened consistency and strain out the solids leaving you with amazing red syrup which gets blended up with some cold milk to make strawberry cold foam! How cool is this?

I hope you enjoy :)

Ingredients
Latte
  • Your favorite Chai Tea Latte mix
  • 1/2 C warmed milk of your choice (I prefer whole) + 2 TBSP cold whole milk for cold foam
Strawberry Syrup
  • 1 and 1/2 C strawberries fresh or frozen works
  • 1/2 C granulated sugar
Instructions
Strawberry Syrup
Heat strawberries and sugar over medium low heat until berries start to break down and the mixture thickens. It will take anywhere from 10-15 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly
Strain out the solids from the liquids (Save the strawberry pieces to have over top of yogurt or oatmeal)!
Let your remaining syrup cool
Latte
Warm your milk and stir in your Chai Latte Mix
Take your 2 TBSP cold milk and about 2-4 tsp of your strawberry syrup (up to taste and color preferences)
Blend with a little coffee whisk or hand whisk rapidly until the milk is frothy.
Pour on top of the latte and enjoy immediately!
You can drizzle a little more syrup on top as well.
Tips
  • You should have enough syrup left to make 6-8 drinks or so depending on how much you use.
