Crescent baked sandwich with melted cheese

Yields: 4 Servings Difficulty: Easy Prep Time: 10 Mins Cook Time: 15 Mins Total Time: 25 Mins

If you’re looking for a quick, simple and delicious sandwich that is ready in minutes, then you MUST try this one!

This is enough for 4 servings so it bakes super quick and the small pan can even be fit into a toaster oven. So you don’t have to heat up your kitchen!

It makes a quick dinner and the leftovers warm up nicely. Any brand of crescent rolls will work. And of course you can change up the meats and cheeses.

I do recommend that you bake the bottom crust first so that it’s not soggy when the whole sandwich is baked.

Ingredients 0/6 Ingredients Adjust Servings

  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 8 oz crescent rolls (1 pkg)
  • 8 oz Swiss cheese (sliced)
  • 8 oz deli ham (sliced)
  • 4 tbsp mustard (divided)
  • 8 oz dill pickles (sliced)

Instructions 0/2 Instructions

  • Step 1
A sprinkle of paprika for color and flavor.

Using an 8x8 inch pan brush melted butter on the bottom. Open the crescent rolls and divide the roll in half. Spread one half of the dough on the bottom of the pan. Spreading it out but making sure that the seams are sealed. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Once out of the oven spread the dough with mustard and layer with half the cheese, all of the ham and all of the pickles. Then top with the remaining half of the cheese. Spread with additional mustard if desired. Top it with the other half of the dough. Be careful to spread the dough out to meet the bottom but keeping the seams together. Brush the top with remaining melted butter and sprinkle the top with paprika.

Step 2 Bake for 15-18 minutes or until dough is cooked and the cheese is bubbly. Cut into 4 pieces. Serve warm.

Ingredients

  • 1 package crescent rolls
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, melted
  • 8 ounces Swiss cheese slices
  • 8 ounces Deli Ham slices
  • 4 Tablespoons of Mustard, divided
  • 8 ounces of pickles, sliced
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease the bottom of an 8x8 inch baking dish.

Unroll the crescents and divide in half. There will be 4 triangles to each half.

Lay one half of the dough in the bottom of the pan. Pinch the seams together to make one sheet of dough.

Bake the bottom layer for 10 minutes to keep it from becoming soggy.

Once the bottom layer is baked then it's time to add the fillings. I start with mustard and then add cheese, meat and pickles. Then more mustard, then meat, ending with cheese.

Add the top layer of dough, making sure that the edges are as closed as possible.

Brush the top with melted butter and add a sprinkle of paprika.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Tips
  • This sandwich can be made with 2 rolls of crescent dough in a 11x13 pan if you need to make a large sandwich.
  • You can brush the top with garlic butter or another flavor butter for added flavor.
  • The possibilities are endless- experiment with your favorite sandwich fillings.
