Brazilian Style Rice

If you're not sure how to make white rice or just find it too bland and want to kick it up a notch, this is the place to be!
Out of all of the amazing and unique Brazilian recipes, the way we make rice might just be one of the greatest inventions ever. Stay with me here, rice is delicious as is, great source of carbs and goes well with a lot of food.
Now what if you added some butter, garlic, olive oil, some salt and even onions? Mind blowing right? Imagine the flavour of it, the aroma you could actually eat it by itself!
White rice is a basic cooking skill and although its easy, many people find it challenging but don't be scared, it is really not that complicated (: Feel free to watch the video so you can follow along!

Brazilian Style Rice
Recipe details
Ingredients
- 2 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
- To taste Olive oil
- To taste Butter
- 2 cups Rice
- To taste Salt
- 3 cups Water
Instructions
- Finely chop the garlic
- In a small pot over medium high heat, sauté the chopped garlic with olive oil and butter until translucent
- Add the rice and salt and mix it well
- Add the water and bring it to a boil
- Once the water is boiling, cover it with a lid and turn the heat to low
- Cook it until all the water evaporates, becareful Cook it until all the water evaporates. Be careful not to burn the bottom of the pot
- Turn the heat off and enjoy!
Tips
- Make sure to turn the heat down once the water starts boiling and you cover it with a lid
- Don't mix it or touch it before the rice is done
- To check if the rice is ready, grab a spoon and gently scrape the rice from the wall of the pot to the bottom. If there is no water left and the rice looks somewhat dry, it is ready!

My brazilian sister in law does this with white onion instead of garlic. Delicious too!!
Sounds delicious!! One can never have enough garlic or onions.
