Homemade Rosemary Salt

This rosemary/sage salt is life changing!!

My daughter and son in law discovered this recipe recently and so far, we have used it on chicken, steaks and pork chops.

We have also used it to season roasted potatoes, roasted asparagus, omelettes and mixed into softened butter to spread on warm bread. It is SO good and I plan on keeping some on hand at all times!

The ingredients are kosher salt, fresh rosemary, fresh sage, garlic and lemon zest.

If you have rosemary and sage growing in your garden, that’s perfect. If you don’t, maybe a friend has some you could ask for or typically you can find it at the grocery store in the produce section.

I strip the leaves of the rosemary and sage and add to the kosher salt, garlic and lemon zest and chop all together in a 2 cup mini food chopper. You can also use a food processor, but I don’t like having to clean my big food processor since this only makes a small amount.

Just FYI, both herbs are very easy to grow and can be planted in a pot if you don’t have space for a garden.

This would make a great gift for friends. Mix up a batch, put in cute jars, tie with a ribbon and a handmade label with suggestions for using. I used an airtight glass jar with a hinged lid and my dymo label maker to create a tag for mine. You can find the jars here, and the label maker here. I actually use this label maker quite a bit in home projects.

I hope you enjoy this tasty salt recipe and would love to hear if you try it and what you used it on.

blessings,

michele
