Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 medium ripe bananas
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter 
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large loaf pan with cooking spray or butter.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk to blend the dry ingredients.
In a separate large mixing bowl, mix together mashed bananas, sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the banana mixture, stirring with a mixing spoon until the batter is mixed. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. For an extra crunch, you can sprinkle more chopped walnuts and turbinado sugar on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
Once baked, remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Then, carefully remove the banana bread from the pan and place it on a plate or wire rack to cool completely.
