These rich and decadent Milk Chocolate Toffee Shortbread Bars will not let you down. They taste like a combo between Twix and Heath candy bars. I know.

Plus, they are seriously so easy to make. With only 6 ingredients, you can have these beauties whipped up in no time. And even better, your family will love you for it.

Make the Shortbread Crust:

Mix together butter, flour and brown sugar.

Line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper that has been lightly sprayed with cooking spray.

Then press the crumbly mixture into the bottom and corners of the pan.

Pressing down with the bottom of a measuring cup works well to get the mixture even and compressed.

Pop the crust into a preheated 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes.

For the Filling:

In a small saucepan, melt the 2 tablespoons of butter with 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, until combined.

Then, pour this hot mixture over the crust that is still warm from the oven.

Put it back in the oven and bake for another 12-15 minutes until the filling is bubbly and has turned a golden brown.

Remove from oven.

The Topping:

Sprinkle the top of the hot filling with the milk chocolate chips.

Then, carefully spread the chips over the filling with an off-set spatula.

Finally, sprinkle the toffee bits over the top of the melted chocolate layer, pressing down into the chocolate to get them to stick.

That's it. I told you it was easy!

Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

I cut these bars in half again after I took this picture, because they are very rich, and one small piece goes a long way!

Look how you can see the 4 distinct layers in these bars: shortbread on the bottom, followed by the caramelly filling, then a layer of milk chocolate, and finally a layer of crunchy toffee on top. Yes, please.
