Peanut Butter Cookies With Chocolate Chunks for Easter Time

24 Cookies

This idea saved the bunnies! Every year the kiddos get SO MUCH CHOCOLATE at Easter and the bunnies end up lasting wayyyyyy too long. I find them in summer under beds, partially eaten. I find them years later in the back of the freezer. I pray that the dogs don’t find them and eat them. This year, it all changes! I made peanut butter cookies with Easter bunny parts and they are PERFECTION! This is our favorite cookie around here (usually made with kisses) so it is an “of course”. I am wondering why I didn’t do it eons ago. I strongly suggest you make these peanut butter cookies with chocolate chunks even if it means buying an “extra” bunny!

Admire your bunny for a bit and maybe even take a bite or two before getting started!

Ingredients Needed

Directions

Don’t schedule an entire day for this activity because it is a quick and easy one. This is such a super simple recipe for peanut butter cookies with chocolate chunks!

Step One

Make your cookie dough using a box mix or your favorite homemade peanut butter cookie recipe.

Place your cookies on a baking sheet (I love this oversized one best!) on top of a piece of parchment paper.

Step Two

While the cookies are baking (following directions for your recipe) – chop the chocolate bunny up into pieces. These could be tiny or huge depending on how much chocolate you want in your mouth at one time.

Step Three

When the cookies come out of the oven, use a spatula to place them on a cooling rack. While they are still warm, place the chocolate pieces gently on the tops. They will melt in a little and stick to the cookie.

Once they have cooled enough to eat, gobble them up! They are excellent dipped in milk and coffee!

Two More Great Recipes!

There are so many super fun and delicious ways to make treats for springtime. The bird nest cookies are another no-bake delight that you can whip up at the last minute.

Candy bark is always a great idea too. This one is super pretty and yummy too. It is a great way to use your PEEPS in the kitchen with your kiddos! Grab the recipe AND a free printable tag.

Seven Great Reasons to Bake

For me baking is a great way to express myself. I believe that it is a form of creativity. I am excited to share my TOP seven reasons to bake with you. Know that baking doesn’t need to be “from scratch” to count. It always counts even when it is only halfway homemade.

  1. Baking is like meditation. I find going through the steps of making a recipe to very calming and relaxing.
  2. Also, Baking stirs the senses, literally and figuratively.
  3. When I bake cookies, cakes, pies and treats; I find myself feeling creative and happy in my heart.
  4. Sometimes my kids bake with me and it creates a great time to bond and connect.
  5. Homemade treats make great gifts.
  6. Using recipes passed down from generations creates a magical connection to family.
  7. Honestly, baking boosts my morale. It is just plain good for the spirit.
