Pumpkin Spice Oreo Truffles

Pumpkin Spice Oreo Truffles are an easy no-bake treat! You can mix up a batch with only four ingredients for fall or Thanksgiving.

I found Pumpkin Spice Oreos at Target and have also seen them at the grocery store. This no-bake treat can be adapted using your favorite Oreo flavor and frosting and decorated with sprinkles to suit your celebration or holiday, like  Birthday Cake Oreo Truffles or  Red Velvet Oreo Truffles for Valentine’s Day.

You can mix up a batch with only four ingredients. . . Oreos, candy coating or almond bark, a can of frosting and decorative sprinkles. If you can’t find Pumpkin Spice Oreos, you can use Golden Oreos and add a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice to your cookie/frosting mixture. Adjust the spice, adding more to your taste if desired. A 10.7 package of Oreos makes about 2 dozen truffles.

Start by placing your Oreos in a food processor and pulse until they are fine crumbs. The limited edition flavor packages are smaller than regular Oreos.

For a 10.7 ounce package, you’ll need 3/4 of a can of frosting. I’m a fan of Pillsbury canned frosting and like the cream cheese flavor, but use the brand and flavor you like. Pulse the frosting and crumb mixture together until well combined. If you don’t have a food processor, place your cookies in a zip top bag and crush them with a rolling pin, then use a mixer to mix the frosting with the cookie crumbs until smooth.

Roll your cookie mixture into 1” sized balls. Place your balls on wax paper in the freezer 30 – 45 minutes until firm.

Melt a 16 oz. package of candy coating according to the package directions. I like the convenience of CandyQuik, as it comes with a microwave disposable tray, but you can use candy melts or chocolate chips if you prefer. You can find almond bark/candy coating on the baking aisle near the chocolate.

Place your chilled truffle ball on a fork, dipping it and rolling it in the melted candy coating. Once the ball is covered, tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to remove any excess and place your truffle ball on wax paper to set.

Add your decorative sprinkles while candy coating is still warm. Once your candy coating is set, you can tidy them up, trimming off any additional coating that has pooled on the bottom of the truffle. I like to using mini cupcake liners for a festive and easy way to serve them and they also hide any blemishes if your candy coating isn’t perfect.
